Lorem ipsum, the FIRST ever dedicated lorem ipsum website

Yes its true, Loremipsum.de was the firstever website on the internet dedicated to loremipsum. Its launched in 2001 and used an example website for students learning about design for the internet.

In 2005, after 35,000 visitors it was time for a redesign, something simple and information focused yet more modern. In 2007 we started getting over 10,000 visitors a month. As a majority of the visitors are from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, we have translated the website in German and set this as the default language.

Fast Forward to 2013 and on average we record 110,000 visitors each month, 70,000 unique with ca. 120,000 page views.

We know hundreds of people who regularly use this website, the URL is easy to remember and in the middle of a design project, in a few seconds, you have as much blind text as you require.

As a lot of websites were simply copying entire sections of this website and the code for the generator without bothering to give credits where due, all original information on this website is now Copyleft... free to use and duplicate (excepting the text and code from others).
